Studying infections to discover new bioactive compounds and therapeutic targets.

In the Pasteurian tradition, we are passionate about host-microbe interactions and their role in genesis of human diseases. Through the study of successfull pathogens, we aim to identifiy new means to manipulate the immune system and tackle cancer and infectious diseases. We have a particular knowledge of the immunosuppressive mechanisms evolved by mycobacteria. We also developed expertise in the immunometabolism of Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with microbiome alterations. Our research is conducted at the molecular, cellular and whole organism levels in models of human disease, and it combines fundamental and translational studies.
